Remember when hiphop use to be fun? Well this is a part of hiphop alot of people forgot about. All this "we thuggin-thug4life" Swedish hiphop doesn't really impress me all that much. Especially when you live in Sweden and you're probably not a killa running around loose around town. Sure, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of gangsta rap here and there. Hell I love me some good ol' fashion NWA and all that.
But when push comes to shove, I rather just listen to somebody or someone that does their own thing and doesn't pull stunts or gimmicks. I saw this video from this Gothenburg based group called Ozone Fukkaz. After it was finished I got this huge smile on my face. I really and honestly liked it. Alot actually! I've met some of the guys, I knew they were funny as hell. And the fact that they took that naturally funniness (is that an actual word?!) and put some raps along with it rally made me enjoy the video and their whole style. Don't get me wrong, this is isn't just a goofy home made video with kindergarden raps. These guys can rap and the beat reminds me of some ATQC- type of feeling. No, the thing that made like this shit was the fact that they are just doing their own thing. Plain and simple. I know that there's alot of talent out here in Gothenburg, and Ozone Fukkaz are definitely one of them.

My boy Vic Vem is one half of Parham & Vic and is one of the rappers that holds in down out here in Gothenburg. I was approached a month ago to put some cuts on this new song he made called "Passagerare". As soon as I heard it I felt like this is a real good track with a great message. Real proud of these guys, they always make tracks that mean something. And that is exactly what Pharcyde use to preach about. Check out the video!
I have a little guilty pleasure with this new Nicki Minaj song. Don't get me wrong, I like Nicki Minajs rap but not the "sounding like the exorcist-going to Ibiza" joints.
I saw Professor P and DJ Akilles briefly last year at "Andra Långdagen". The weather was blazing hot and it seemed that the whole Gothenburg town was out on the street. They performed a couple of songs and got the crowd going. No gimmicks, no fake scratches, no bullshit. Just a dope rapper and a dope DJ. This year their album "The Realism" is one of the nicest albums I've heard in a while and definitely deserves a spot in your music library. Here's the official video for "Keep Doing It" together with Adam Tensta and Rigael Damar!
She might have been gone for a little minute but my homegirl Peshi is back with a big track called "Gone". Without a doubt one of the best mc's from Sweden. I ain't saying that because she's my friend, Im saying that because she does her thing and lays it down real big. Check it out!
