Fake it to make it

Ok, so here's the deal. About a year and a half ago I took it upon myself to expose these so called "DJs" that use mixtapes when they're spinning out in public. My main target was Levis aka DJ Milli Vanilli. Why? Because this kid did a pretty good job lying his way up to a point where people actually believed that he is this huge DJ from Sweden AND the fact that he came to my club (Club Soft) and played a mixtape mind you. Since then there's been a lot of reactions and people that love DJing and respect the craft like I do made their point clear what they think of him and fuckups like him.

I haven't written anything on my blog purposely for a while because I felt that I've made my point. And sooner or later I knew that he will show his true face despite his well planned "I'm a victim and I'm starting to learn the real way now"- scam. It kinda backfired on his ass since he managed to fuck up 3 times in one month in 3 different countries. That was only two months ago. Once at a Sean Paul concert in Oslo (where DJ Soulshock actually saw him play mixtapes). In Copenhagen at the Mario show (DJ Phil saw the exact same bullshit) and out here in my hometown. And this after he so rigidly tried to defend himself that his is started to play the "right way". There's is only one right way to spin: actually playing the records you idiot.

And the newest news is that Kingsizemagazine in Norway called his manager up Talar Kirkor and got pissed off that Levis uses their logo on his flyers without their permission. I'm sure that he thought that it will be a good idea to use their logo to make it seem that he is legit but that also backfired on his and his managers ass. From what I've heard little miss Talar didn't sound to happy about that. By the way I confronted her face to face a year ago about her client, she was quick to play dumb and her constant reply was: "at least he makes his own mixtapes" and "I don't know how this DJ stuff works". Well I do.

So to round this up, here is a video that my boy Neno put put yesterday (big up to him, he and many others like him that supported this shit from day one) where you can actually see Levis and his well coordinated moves (with twisting knobs, fake playing) at a club. This video is exclusive and if you know ANYTHING about how DJing works you'll see right away that he is NOT playing the record. He plays mixed song from one cd, has the second cd turntable on (volume down) and is acting a complete fool.

I know what he will tell people around him and on his blog: that was before, I don't do that anymore. Two words: show and prove. Hit me up, I'll come to your crib our a gig with a cam and I want you to play the exact same way you did on the video. I guarantee you that it will not sound the same. There's a HUGE difference when you actually mix the songs manually then play other peoples mixes.

With that I leave you to make up your own mind of the shit that I just wrote. For me the kid is mad fake and will never ever get my respect. No matter how many shows he gets from this day on, to me (and a lot of other people) he will always be that fucking douchebag that spins mixtape. That doesn't get forgotten that easily. And still, he cant blame anybody else but himself. He chose to start his bullshit DJ career with real bitch moves. Now he just trying to cover up his tracks.

To all of you up and coming DJs this is a lesson on how not to start your DJ career. Yeah it's a cliche but a good one: you have to give respect to get it. If you put in work and love music, sky's the limit.

Peace // C
